The Blog Shop is an entirely different beast than my custom work. I realize that someone was looking through my website might be confused if they are not familiar with my services and shop. It is part of the reason I wanted to do some mini-updates to my site – to improve user navigation and access to information.
Affordable Blog Design + Solutions
I started the shop to provide affordable and quick blog design solutions to content creators and bloggers. I would receive inquiries from people who might not have been a good fit for my custom project package. They would be ideal for something quicker, more affordable, and less strategic.
What do I mean by less strategic? With custom work, everything is created specifically for the client’s message; hence, why it goes through rounds of revisions – we are refining. For the Blog Shop, it is picking what offerings work best for one’s content. If a potential client does not have their brand strategy developed but still needs a beautiful, functional and responsive website, they can find what themes and headers work best for their goals. It is a quicker solution (instantly to 3-5 business days depending on the order).
Beginner Tools + Resources
Except for the packages, headers, and add-ons, everything is meant for customers to be able to purchase and set up themselves. Each product comes with instructions on how to use their purchase, and customers can send questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
With digital goods, there is no real way to “refund” the product. Therefore, I try to be as transparent as possible in the product listings. I’ve included all the specifics about the items in the listings so that customers know what they are purchasing before they buy. I also know people have questions, so I encourage potential clients to email me before they buy!

Working with An Expert: If you value someone’s experience, knowledge in the field, and their portfolio, then you already know that it doesn’t happen overnight. If you think you can get “expert” results with your DIY branding, you are likely in for a headache and some long nights. I’m a firm believer in using my time strategically. There are certain things that I am not an expert in, so I hire that out, i.e. accountant and lawyer.
Focus on Your Content: Blogs fail to grow because of their content, not because of their design. All those late nights spent working on your DIY branding can be better spent creating a meaningful strategic plan for your brand and business. Most bloggers struggle to showcase their unique point of view and create a cohesive message. It’s not something that can be done in one day. It takes time. If you spend time working on your DIY branding, you are missing out on valuable time to create a purposeful message.
